  WARNING. I’d give zero stars if I could. I don’t usually do reviews but I felt the need to warn people. Plato’s is probably the worst “gently used” consignment clothing store ever. Stick with the smaller stores. (Switch it up) is a good one. I’ve been buying and selling at Plato’s for 5 years. I’ve never had an issue until now. They won’t hardly give you anything for your stuff. And if it’s basically not brand new with the tags on it, they won’t buy it. I brought a bag full of clothes and shoes (all worn roughly 5 times). They checked them while I shopped. I had some items I wanted to buy from them, also. When they were done going through my items, they called me up and kept 2 shirts and gave me $5. Shirts that I didn’t even think they’d take. I had 3 pairs of shoes no more than 1-2 years old. Basically new. Nike’s, polo, puma, chaps. All name brand name stuff. They didn’t want to buy any of it. They’d find a flake of dirt on the sole of a shoe and pass on them. I scraped the flake of dirt off and they still came up with excuses as to why they don’t want to buy my clothes. Wasting my time and gas for $5. Again, ALL brand name stuff and ALL gently worn or new. They said there are stains. I asked where. They couldn’t even find the “stains” when I asked them to show me. Over the 5 years of being a customer with Plato’s, I’ll now say that it isn’t worth it and I’ll not go back to buy or sell. Needless to say, the clothes I was going to buy from them, I didn’t because of this horrible customer service and By the way, as they were looking at my items, I was shopping and saw at least 10 shirts in the 20 min. I was there that had very visible stains, yet my clothes had zero stains and hardly any wear. This store is a joke now. Basically if you want them to buy your clothes, you’ll need to go buy brand new name brand stuff, keep the tags on and then they’ll give you probably 10% of what you just paid. To sum it up, you’re way better off going to a smaller consignment shop rather than Plato’s.
